Hi,
I have variable products that are in stock, but also variable product that have backorders allowed, status in stock, but 0 actual stock for all variations.
The problem is that when you select order by price lowest to highest the backorder products of which all variations’ stock is set to 0 won’t sort. They stay at the beginning (on the first pages) as if their price was 0.
I found out that simple products sort by price as they should with the same settings – backorders allowed, status in stock, 0 stock. Also if I set just one of the variations to stock 1, the product sorts well.

I understand that the problem comes from the 0 stock in all variations. Is there anything I could do about it? Change settings of the products? But I don’t know what I could change to keep the backorder option, but allow sorting at the same time. I couldn’t google anything specifically on this matter, but it seems quite important to me, because at the moment, people aren’t able to sort by price.
Tried it with no other plugins and Twenty Seventeen with no improvement.
