Hidden Field of Current URL to MailChimp

I would like to send the current URL to a hidden field in MailChimp. I’ve used

<input type=”hidden” name=”LOCATION” value=”{current_url}”>

Which only adds {current_url} to my field instead of what the actual URL is. If I use this code in a text Widget is seems to work fine. Is there a way to do this with Genesis eNews Extended.
